I'm Louise Barnett, the editor at Yogamag.info, where my days are filled with the exploration of myriad subjects that pique my curiosity and feed my ever-growing appetite for knowledge. From the latest in laser cutting technology to the timeless wisdom of yoga and meditation, my work allows me to dive deep into topics that not only fascinate me but also have the potential to improve our daily lives. I have a particular interest in how ancient practices meet modern life, leading me to explore everything from Ayurveda to minimalism and beyond. My journey has taught me the importance of balance—between innovation and tradition, action and reflection, and between the digital and the natural world. Each article I publish is a step towards understanding this balance better, hoping to inspire others along the way.

The industrial style, which was born as a result of the recession and the collapse of many factories in the last century in the United States, is currently very much on trend. It is in this aesthetic that the interiors of old tenements, in which natural brick reigns, and the interiors of apartments, which were built after the conversion of industrial buildings into residential buildings, are decorated. Industrial vibe goes well with interiors that feature natural plaster, often scratched with visible signs of formwork, structural elements of the building: all buttresses, supports, beams and natural brick and concrete.

It is for such interiors that furniture made of metal and unfinished wood is ideally suited. Industrial furniture is often deliberately aged: abrasions are made, paint chips are caused or some parts are covered with rust. This is furniture whose lines are straight, raw, in which rivets, welds and any joints are visible. More and more leading brands offer such furniture, so there is no need to look for it at antique exchanges. Furniture from established Scandinavian brands and even furniture from new brands that are just starting to crawl are increasingly inspired by furniture that used to be seen only in factories, farm buildings or hospitals. This is furniture whose design refers to the style of employee furniture, office filing cabinets, laboratory cabinets and tables and hospital cabinets. Metal is combined with glass or natural wood. Often, instead of traditional doors in cabinets, metal meshes are used to emphasize the rawness of the furniture.

However, industrial furniture is not only for lovers of raw style in interiors. This furniture is also perfect for any other style. They can be introduced into the arrangement as an element that will break the leading aesthetics, which will make the interior design more interesting. Industrial style furniture looks great when combined with classic furniture.

However, they are certainly furniture for the bold and for the discerning. For those who will appreciate their “old” look, who will not be bothered by chipped paint, rust on a piece of furniture that has just been bought. This is furniture for those who like original interiors, who, betting on individuality, want to stand out, and not duplicate boring arrangements.
